| John Waddell's Fish & Anemone Salt Water Tank |
SIZE: 55 GALLON (14 MONTHS OLD) TWO PIC'S (Including "The Three Amigo's" Tube Anemone's) FILTRATION: Two Marineland 400 Bio Wheel filters, undergravel filter with power heads & a Cyclone protein skimmer LIGHTING: (4) 65watt Hello Lighting power compacts, two 6700K daylight & two 10,000K 50/ 50. SUBSTRATE: Unlike most people I like using a coarser substrate (1/4" shell). It allows for more efficent flow of water throught the undergravel filter, also allows more oxygen to beneficial microscopic organisms living there. This give a base for the pink, green and purple corline algae to grow on. WATER CHEMISTRY: Temperature is at a steady 77-78 degrees, no measurable amounts of Ammonia, Nitrite or Nitrate. Salinity is at 1.21, Calcium is around 450-500ppm, PH is 8.4. |
